RESPOND conducts research on critical issues such as political corruption, undue influence, and anti-corruption efforts, and our fieldwork spans several countries where trust in democratic institutions and control of corruption vary widely.
As such, the project is committed to the highest ethical standards to ensure both the quality and integrity of its research and the safety of all participants and researchers involved. RESPOND is guided by the principle of Do No Significant Harm (DNSH).
RESPOND also adheres to international ethical standards and embraces the principles of responsible research and innovation. These principles, presented in RESPOND’s Charter of Ethics and other ethics-related documents, are: diversity and inclusion; anticipation and reflection; responsiveness; and transparency.
To support our work, RESPOND has developed a comprehensive set of ethical guidelines and supporting documents. These resources were created to ensure that RESPOND activities are conducted in an ethical manner by all members of the consortium.
Feel free to contact us if you would like more information or to discuss the ethical frameworks we have developed.
