RESPOND First Co-Creation Workshop

As part of a series of four co-creation workshops, the first RESPOND Co-Creation Workshop took place on February 28, 2025, bringing together experts from various fields to refine and advance research on political corruption.

The workshop was designed as a collaborative and interactive space where all stakeholders were able to discuss on an equal footing, contributing their insights to shape the project’s analytical framework and methodologies.

This first event served as a platform for participants to engage in open discussions and co-design sessions, refining definitions of corruption and identifying practical indicators to detect corrupt practices. The event featured presentations from experts on specific aspects of political corruption: public procurement, legislative favouritism, political finance, revolving doors, media capture

Following these discussions, a roundtable session allowed participants to share insights from their own experiences and areas of expertise, providing valuable feedback on the methods and schemes of political corruption under investigation.

This workshop was the first in a series of four planned co-design sessions, each aiming to build upon previous insights and further refine RESPOND’s research framework. Next workshops  will be held on the 14th, 21st and 28th March.

By fostering a collaborative dialogue among experts, the project seeks to bridge the gap between academic research and practical policy solutions, ultimately contributing to more effective anti-corruption strategies at both national and EU levels.
