We are pleased to invite you to the next edition of the RESPOND Seminar Series, featuring the launch of the book The Digitalisation of Anti-Corruption in Brazil: Scandals, Reforms, and Innovation (Routledge, 2025).

The monograph, authored by Fernanda Odilla, Assistant Professor at the University of Bologna and member of the RESPOND team, explores how major corruption scandals can be addressed through digitalization and open data initiatives. It highlights the emergence of a new generation of “integrity techies” in both government and civil society, and examines the challenges, pitfalls, and risks associated with anti-corruption technologies.

Professor Michael Johnston, a distinguished scholar in political science known for his expertise in corruption, public policy, democratization and governance, will discuss Odilla’s monograph. He will engage in a discussion about the book’s key points.

This timely book is one of the outcomes of the BIT-ACT(Bottom-Up Initiatives and Anti-Corruption Technologies) research project, founded by the ERC-European Research Council under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.

The book is available in open access and can be downloaded here: https://www.taylorfrancis.com/books/mono/10.4324/9781003326618/digitalisation-anti-corruption-brazil-fernanda-odilla
