Co-creation activities in the RESPOND project

RESPOND researchers are working with law enforcement officials, civil society activists, journalists, business leaders and other key stakeholders to:

  • Understand how corruption works;
  • Define corruption more accurately;
  • Identify early warnings and red flags.

Working with stakeholders, RESPOND will be able to develop more relevant and useful tools to combat political corruption.  Starting in February, the RESPOND project will kick off a series of co-creation workshops aimed at engaging selected stakeholders from diverse fields in the fight against political corruption. These workshops will provide a platform to share insights on existing anti-corruption methods, refine definitions of political corruption, create practical indicators for detecting corruption risks  and, where needed, expand the list of methods and schemes detailed in the project’s compendium.

Results:

  • Co-creating a compendium of methods and schemes related to corruption in legislation and public spending
  • Developing a compendium of methods and schemes addressing undue influence through lobbying and political financing
  • Co-creating a compendium focused on personal connections and revolving doors that sustain political corruption
  • Creating a compendium that explores media capture, including both legacy and digital media

RESPOND will also evaluate the impact of these co-creation activities, ensuring that all participants benefit from this collaborative process. The project will produce a toolkit of best practices and guidelines for applying co-creation methods in the anti-corruption sector.
